Everyone's flown the coop.

Sitting at home on a Saturday night, waiting to hit the town.

The last few months have seen a few changes. I'm starting back to school in the most unconventional way possible. That's right, kids, I'm now a student at Canada's Open University, Athabasca U. Which is to say, I'm taking university classes at home on my own time. So now I'm an English major. Weird. I got the box in the mail with my first class this week. It's nuts. It's like, university without the people, which is highly appealing to me. Retardedly, I have six months to finish the course. I dare ask, how could I fuck this up? Let's not find out.
At least my bookshelf will be improving, though not at first. This first run is basic prose forms, a second year course. A lot of sleepers, but I may as well get a head start on reading. Right now I sitting on so many books and I kind of want to finsih my reading for pleasure before I have to start reading for school. My new bff Dana is an English Phd student and is great for new and awesome books to read, not to mention feeding my need for gore with our regular horror schedule.

I spent most of my afternoon sleeping. I'm awesome.

Tonight we are celebrating my friend Geof's birth and subsequent life at the bar I was at last night. You know what's awesome? Being a regular at a bar. Some may even call me a "bar fly", and that is just...wow, awesome again.

I spent the last few days re-reading old blogs on here. Gross. I think I'm still in 2005. It's been fun resizing old pictures though. After starting the horror blog I find I'm just loving all the updates that Blogger added that I've just never played with due to lack of blogging. It's way easier editing posts now.

Anyways, yeah, I'm happy about the school thing, namely doing it on my terms. As the Descendants put it so well, I'm not a lo-serrrr!

PS HOLY SHIT RIGHT?

oooh. continuing education from home. i've always found that idea fascinating. how does it work?

i spent most of my afternoon sleeping too. i guess so i can spend most of my night NOT sleeping.

for a short time in 2006 i was a barfly. i gotta admit, it IS sort of cool when you don't even have to tell the bartender what you want because they already know.

It's even better when you can maintain barfly status at multiple bars, the way Archie juggles all the chicks in Riverdale.

The distance ed thing basically goes like this. You register, you pay for what courses you want as you go, bada bing you get a degree.
