Here we are, home at last.
I've spent the last two weeks staying in London, Ontario with a girl I care about very much and her family. The trip went well, and once again I find myself under Edmonton's grey sky, back in my apartment staring at a computer screen. To quote a good friend: "I hate my life." When I think about what I've come home to, I lose interest in writing.
I remember having purpose and direction....there are things I need to do. Is it time for a list already?
Perfection is taking a red-eye the fuck out of Edmonton. A near empty plane, the whole row to yourself, and good music. It's pitch black outside save for the distant lights on the ground but the sky is beginning to lighten up at the horizon. Then after drifting into sleep, through the open window you are hit by a naked sunrise to the tune of Van Morrisson's "Queen of the Slipstream" in your headphones. Stare, and let your eyes water.
